The first round couldn’t have gotten off to much of a better start for the Habs who find themselves on the verge of a Round 1 victory after winning each of the first three games against Ottawa.

The Habs trailed for most of the game and were outhit and outmuscled considerably but in the end, none of that mattered as the Habs pulled out their second straight overtime win on Sunday night to take a 3-0 series lead against Ottawa.
With the season now over for the Hamilton Bulldogs, the Habs have announced which players will be joining the big club to serve as extras for their playoff run. Suffice it to say, it’s a much smaller list than usual.
The postseason kicked off on Wednesday and Game 1 of the Montreal-Ottawa series lived up to the hype. It was a wild and wacky game but at the end of the day, the Habs have the early lead after a 4-3 win.
It may not have been the prettiest of victories but the Habs ended their season with a pair of wins to secure first place in their division for the second time in three years.
The NCAA hockey season is now over and the Habs wasted little time inking one of their collegiate prospects, signing forward Mark MacMillan to a two year entry level contract on Sunday afternoon.

The Habs didn’t have much success this past week but did enough to hold onto first in the Atlantic as we hit the home stretch on the season. Hamilton also struggled, losing both of their games and really hurting their playoff odds in the process.
The month of March saw some new faces step up for the Hamilton Bulldogs as they continue their quest for a postseason berth. Meanwhile, the playoffs are in full force in many other leagues and quite a few of Montreal’s prospects are playing quite well in their early series.
With Detroit having moved to the East just recently, there hasn’t been much of an opportunity for the Habs to play many meaningful games against them, let alone develop a rivalry. However, there is a pretty good chance these two could meet in the postseason which would change that in a hurry.
