With several prospects getting ousted early in the postseason, there aren’t many players to choose from in our April 3 Stars but several stood out amongst the rest.
The IceCaps didn’t go down easily but they did drop the final two games of their first round series against Syracuse to end their postseason in a hurry. Things are a bit better for Zach Fucale and company at the ECHL level though after splitting the first two matchups of their second round series versus Manchester.
It has been a while since Montreal’s AHL team made the playoffs but that changed last week with the IceCaps clinching a playoff spot. Here’s a closer look at their first round matchup against Syracuse.
The month of March saw a few new prospects jump to the forefront along with several of the usual faces. Here are our Prospect 3 Stars for the month.
The third quarter of the season for St. John’s saw two players in particular really step up their game to lead the team. Unfortunately for the IceCaps, not many others followed suit. Our report card wraps up with a look at the forwards.
The Montreal Canadiens signed London Knights defenceman Victor Mete to a three-year, entry level contract on Monday. (2017-18 to 2019-20). Mete was selected in the fourth round, 100th overall by the Canadiens at the 2016 NHL Entry Draft.
The Habs inked one of their forward prospects on Friday as they announced the signing of left winger to a three year entry level deal that will carry a cap hit of $720,000 per year. The deal commences in the 2017-18 season.
