The opportunities were there at the end, but the Habs simply weren’t able to take advantage, falling 4-2 to Ottawa on Saturday night.

The Montreal Canadiens handed the Dallas Stars their 9th road loss in a row in what was a highly entertaining affair. The game was dictated by sloppy defense, and featured end-to-end, odd-man rushes and wild scrambles in the goal crease.
The Montreal Canadiens resume action tonight, hosting the Dallas Stars at the Bell Centre. The two teams play each other only once this year, and only met once last season, with the Canadiens winning 3-1 in Dallas.

Out of all the signings Bob Gainey made last summer, no one would have guessed that Tomas Plekanec’s would’ve been the best one.
It was a week where the Habs held the fort defensively, allowing just 7 goals in 4 games but the team simply couldn’t score.
It was a game that many were expecting to be a snoozefest like earlier in the week vs Buffalo but instead the opposite happened.
