After a rough loss to Vegas on Saturday, the Habs looked to end their home stand on a high note against Utah on Tuesday. They had the lead briefly in the third but couldn’t hold it, falling 3-2 in overtime.
Home ice wasn’t too kind to Laval last week as they lost a pair of divisional games. However, they were able to still salvage something out of the week as they picked up a victory to kick off their second five-game road trip of the month.
The Habs started off the week on a high note, continuing their strong play from previous games. However, the team then had a four-day break and came out of it with one of their worst outings of the season to end the week.
After an extended break, the Habs were back in action on Saturday as they hosted Vegas. The Golden Knights took command of the game with a five-goal second period and never looked back as they picked up the 6-2 win.
After seeing their franchise-record eight-game win streak end, Laval has a new one underway after they took all three of their games against division rivals to cap off their five-game road trip.
The Habs finally got themselves back into the win column with a pair of victories sandwiching the seemingly annual loss in Minnesota. However, it certainly feels like something needs to change with backup goaltender Cayden Primeau.
After ending their road trip on a loss on Thursday, the Habs returned home to face Columbus on Saturday. It took until the third period for Montreal to take control but they did just that, collecting a 5-1 win for their efforts.

Laval had a pair of games against division rival Belleville last week, a team they’ve struggled with in the past. They were able to come back to win the first game but were unable to hold the lead in the second one as their eight-game win streak came to an end.
