November was a rough month for the Habs and unfortunately, it wasn’t a great month for a lot of their prospects. However, there were a handful that were able to turn in solid showings and earn a spot in our monthly three stars.
The Habs looked to end their five-game home stand on a high note as they hosted Pittsburgh on Thursday. However, a gruesome third period made a close game turn ugly as the Penguins picked up the 9-2 win.
November wasn’t a great month for the Habs as they could only muster up four victories out of their 12 games. Despite that, some individual players still had strong months, earning enough votes from our readers to be among the three stars.
After a rough week to end November, Laval got off to a much better start to kick off the month of December as they picked up five of a possible six points against division rivals although they lost a key player along the way.
The Habs kicked off a long home stand this past week. Bolstered by the return of their key offseason acquisition, they were able to pick up two of three victories, making it one of their better performances over the first two months of the season.
The Habs made a small depth swap on Friday, announcing that they’ve traded winger Jacob Perreault to Edmonton in exchange for defenceman Noel Hoefenmayer. Hoefenmayer was subsequently assigned to Laval.
After their overtime win on Tuesday, the Habs looked to make it two straight victories as they hosted Nashville on Thursday. Offence was hard to come by but Montreal was the only team to score as they collected the 3-0 win.
The Habs capped the month of November on a losing note while starting December the same as they were only able to pick up one victory and three points overall out of four games last week as they’ve slipped to second-last overall.
After a frustrating end to Saturday’s loss in New York, the Habs were back at it Sunday, looking to spoil Boston’s Centennial Game. However, a disastrous 70-second stretch in the first came back to haunt them as they fell 6-3.
