As part of our annual prospect rankings series, we asked our readers to vote for their top-10 prospects. The ballots have been cast and today we bring you the results.
Week two of the season was a strong one for the Habs who got Carey Price back in their lineup and won all three of their games. St. John’s wasn’t quite as successful but they picked up five of six points and saw some considerable offensive improvement.
The next group in our 2016 Prospect Rankings series features several players who garnered serious top-10 consideration. It also features the player with the biggest jump in ranking this year.
The IceCaps recently kicked off their second and final year as the AHL affiliate of the Canadiens this past week. Here are some of the key questions surrounding the team to start the season.
Despite some poor play, the Habs are off to a decent start to their season, taking three of four points this past week. The same can’t be said for St. John’s, whose lacklustre efforts left them with a trio of losses and a lot of penalties to open their campaign.
Right winger Sven Andrighetto cleared waivers on Saturday and has been assigned to St. John’s. The team waived him on Friday to open a roster spot to activate defenceman Jeff Petry off of injured reserve.

The Habs are one step closer to finalizing their season-opening roster as they assigned Michael McCarron to St. John’s on Monday while goaltender Mike Condon was claimed on waivers by Pittsburgh on Tuesday.
The Habs made a small trade on Saturday afternoon, dealing winger Tim Bozon to Florida in exchange for defenceman Jonathan Racine. The team has assigned Racine to St. John’s of the AHL.
