The 2022 World Junior Hockey Championship will run from December 25th to January 5th and for the second straight year, the Habs have three prospects participating. As is our tradition, we’ll keep track of their stats here.
The end of December means it’s time for the World Junior Hockey Championships. Here is a look at the Canadiens youngsters that will be participating.
Despite a depleted lineup due to injuries and plenty of recalls to Montreal, Laval still had a strong week, picking up a pair of victories in three games to hang around the playoff picture.
The Habs will soon be parting ways with one of their prospects as they announced on Thursday that they have reached a mutual agreement with Arsen Khisamutdinov to terminate his contract. He is on waivers today and once he clears on Friday, the move will be made official.
November was a relatively quiet month for Laval but the same can’t be said for several of Montreal’s junior prospects who had standout showings, earning them a spot in the three stars of the month.
After a tough showing against Belleville, Laval had some time to rest before getting two more cracks at the Senators last week. The rest didn’t do them much good as they lost by four goals in both ends of the home-and-home set.
While the Habs didn’t have an October to remember, several of their prospects and farmhands had strong starts to their respective seasons. Those players are highlighted in our top prospects of the month.
The road wasn’t kind to Laval last week as their offence, while bolstered with some additions from the Habs, sputtered as they only mustered up two goals over the weekend in a pair of losses.
Last week was a weird one for Laval, featuring a crazy finish against Toronto for one reason and two games later, a crazy finish against Rochester for a completely different reason.
