Montreal’s first trade of deadline week is in the books but it’s not the type of move that saw them send a veteran out.  Instead, they swapped prospects with Anaheim, acquiring Jacob Perreault in exchange for Jan Mysak.

Normally as the season goes along, we’d reveal our prospect rankings in groups of five. However, now that we’re three-quarters of the way through the year and haven’t been able to get most of these columns done, we’re going to change it up and provide the full rankings in one piece.

The week got off to a strong start for Laval with a shutout in Bridgeport but they weren’t able to capitalize any more than that, dropping their last two games while sliding a little further out of the playoff picture.

While he’s currently out week-to-week with a lower-body injury, Laval Rocket goaltender Kasimir Kaskisuo has made an important impact off the ice as well.

The week started off well for Laval with a win against the top team in the AHL but the momentum was quickly subsided with a pair of disappointing losses to Toronto.

A Laval roster which has certainly been thinned out lately had a tough three-in-three stretch last week. They managed to at least keep afloat in the playoff chase as they picked up three of a possible six points on the road.

After the All-Star break, Laval was back in action for a pair of games against Toronto, one of the teams they’re chasing for position in the North Division. The first game had a rough finish but they bounced back nicely to pick up the split.
