The 2024 World Junior Hockey Championship is set to run from December 26th through January 5th and the Habs will be well represented with four of their top prospects taking part. As usual, we’ll keep track of their stats here.
After a rough first couple of months of the season, Laval put together two of their best efforts of the campaign before the holiday break, collecting a pair of victories in the process.
The 2024 World Juniors are almost upon us and while the Habs won’t have as many prospects taking part compared to a year ago, several of their top youngsters will be suiting up. Here’s a look at who will be participating.
After snapping a long losing streak at home, Laval was back on the road last week for a pair of Atlantic Division matchups. They played well in the first game to pick up a win before putting up one of their worst performances of the season the next night.
The month of November wasn’t a great one for the Habs or even Laval but several of Montreal’s prospects had strong showings, earning them a spot in our monthly three stars.
After a frustrating road trip, Laval returned home for a trio of games last week. It didn’t get off to a good start but they played well against one of the top teams in the league, helping them come away with three points.
After a five-game week, Laval got a small break on the schedule with only three although they were all on the road. The Rocket weren’t able to come away with a win but managed to get to overtime in all three games, making it a reasonably successful week in the standings.
Montreal’s prospect pool has certainly gotten deeper over the last few seasons as a result of the extra draft capital they’ve had. We go similarly deep in our annual rankings as we begin with the players ranked outside the top 40.
The schedule makers weren’t kind to Laval last week, putting them in a tough situation of playing five games in seven days with two separate road trips in there. To their credit, the Rocket did relatively well, picking up a trio of victories despite a long list of injuries.
A return home after a tough road trip didn’t do much to change Laval’s fortunes. While they did pick up an impressive comeback victory, they didn’t muster up much in their other two games, both multi-goal losses.
