Montreal’s trip to Western Canada certainly didn’t get off to a good start but the second half of the week was certainly better for the Canadiens as they picked up a pair of wins with Montreal’s top line leading the way.
The Habs didn’t win the battle of video reviews on Saturday night in Edmonton as all three reviews went the way of the home side. However, Montreal won the battle on the scoreboard by scoring three more than the Oilers, skating away with the 5-2 victory.

Nick Suzuki played on a whole other level on Thursday night as he led the Habs to an entertaining game that resulted in a 5-4 overtime win over the Calgary Flames, the hottest team in the league.

Andrew Hammond’s return to Ottawa was a good one as he made 26 saves to help lead the Canadiens to their fifth-straight win on Saturday night with a 2-1 win over the Senators.
As the Habs make their wish list for prospects to try to add as they move more players out in the coming weeks, there are a number of fine French-Canadian forward prospects around the league for them to look at.
As the Habs look to stock their prospect cupboard over the next few weeks, right-handed defenders should be on Montreal’s radar and there could be some good ones available at a price the team can afford.
