Montreal’s defencemen all appeared to have lead anchoring their skates to the ice as they allowed five goals and many more opportunities in a 5-4 loss to the Coyotes on Thursday night.

Montreal’s claiming of goaltender Antti Niemi off waivers from Florida on Tuesday hasn’t exactly gone over well. Although he’s off to a dreadful start to the year, there’s not a whole lot to really worry about here.

It took nearly a month but Montreal’s offence was out in full force last week as they picked up a trio of wins. Laval continued their offensive run as well as they picked up a pair of wins while continuing to be the highest-scoring team in the AHL.

Montreal looked to finish up their four-game road trip on a winning note on Sunday night in Chicago and received their best goaltending performance of the season en route to a 2-0 victory.

In a game that both teams deserved, the Habs came out on top of a 5-4 overtime decision on Saturday night in Winnipeg. It was exciting from start to finish, a true game for the fans to enjoy from the edge of their seats.
