For Montreal to have any remotely realistic chance of hanging around the playoff race, they needed a big week. They didn’t get it as they instead dropped all four game to fall even further out of the playoff picture.
After three straight disappointing losses, the Habs looked to end the week on a winning note as they hosted Dallas on Saturday night. They got off to a good start but blew a 3-0 lead before losing in overtime as they fell 4-3.
After a terrible first half of the week, the Habs were looking get back on the right track against the Penguins on Friday night. After an even first period, the Penguins took over the game in the second. The Habs didn’t find a way to put a comeback together in the third and lost their third straight, falling 4-1.
The Habs have had some good moves and some bad ones in recent years. Appointing a President of Hockey Operations should help ensure that the good outweighs the bad.
