The Habs finished up their long road trip in Dallas on Sunday for their second game in less than 24 hours against a top team. However, Samuel Montembeault was sharp in goal and Lane Hutson was the overtime hero as Montreal collected the 4-3 victory.

The Habs had their last game before the holiday break in Boston, a place they hadn’t won in for nearly six years. However, that streak is now snapped as Montreal potted four unanswered goals in the third to pick up the 6-2 win.

The Habs and Blackhawks were tied heading into the third period but Montreal picked up three tallies in the third to secure a key 4-1 victory on Thursday night.

The Habs had the lead on Tuesday for less than a minute in total as the Flyers quickly erased Montreal’s advantage, scoring four unanswered to pick up the 4-1 win.

The Habs were in Pittsburgh on Thursday for Jacob Fowler’s NHL debut. The netminder was ready for the task, giving the visitors some steady goaltending. Meanwhile, Montreal’s offence gave him ample support, allowing the Canadiens to get the 4-2 win.

Another busy week kicked off at the Bell Centre on Tuesday as the Habs hosted Tampa Bay. The Lightning, despite playing on Monday, were the more energized team from the drop of the puck and kept their foot on the gas, picking up the 6-1 win.

In a key divisional matchup against the Senators on Tuesday, the Habs didn’t put forth their best effort. They squandered an early lead and couldn’t muster up much in the back half of the game, eventually falling 5-2.

After a big win in Vegas on Friday, the Habs weren’t able to follow that up on Saturday in Colorado. Instead, the Avalanche took advantage of some shaky defence from the visitors, paving the way for them to pick up a 7-2 win.
