The Habs got off to a tough start on Wednesday in Los Angeles. While they were able to battle back and make it interesting late, they weren’t able to pull off the victory, falling 6-3.
Montreal didn’t exactly bring their ‘A’ game to the table on Tuesday night in San Jose but it didn’t matter as a late third-period shorthanded goal from Joel Armia proved to be the difference-maker in a 4-3 victory.
Montreal started off strong on Tuesday against Winnipeg, getting out to an early lead. But that was all they could muster up offensively as they lost 4-1 and lost a key player along the way with an injury.
Montreal got off to a sluggish start on Tuesday against Tampa Bay, trailing by two early in the second. However, they got those back quickly and then Jake Evans potted the winner with just 2:15 in regulation for the 3-2 victory.
The Habs were in comeback mode for most of the night on Sunday against the Rangers, erasing four separate one-goal leads. That set the stage for overtime where Patrik Laine buried the winner in a 5-4 Montreal win.
The Habs had to survive an ugly first period on Tuesday night in Utah. However, the second line was the offensive catalyst in this one, allowing Montreal to pick up a 5-3 victory.
The Habs were in Washington to take on the best team in the Eastern Conference on Friday. They came back from an early deficit, took the lead in the second and while they lost it in the third, Nick Suzuki potted another overtime winner to give Montreal the 3-2 win.
In a back-and-forth game on Monday, the Habs weren’t able to hold a third-period lead but it didn’t matter as Nick Suzuki scored in the opening minute of overtime to give them the 5-4 win over Vancouver.
Montreal wasn’t able to extend its winning streak to four games on Friday as Arvid Soderblom had a strong game in goal for Chicago, turning aside 38 shots as the Blackhawks picked up the 4-2 victory.
