The Habs once again are on the brink of elimination after losing 2 of 3 games to the Penguins this week while the Bulldogs are a win away from the conference finals.
The good news is that the Habs put forth one of their better efforts of the postseason. The bad news? It wasn’t enough as the Habs are facing elimination for the 4th time in these playoffs.
It was a game that had something of everything – a fast start, some controversy, some key saves, and most importantly, a Habs victory as the Canadiens used a strong start to the 3rd to propel them to a 3-2 win over Pittsburgh, tying the series at 2 apiece
The Habs came out with lots of energy early on in Tuesday’s game but were unable to capitalize then or at any other point in the game, falling 2-0 to Pittsburgh in Game 3.
It’s pretty safe to say that the past week has been one of the most exciting for Montreal fans in quite a while.
Despite a horrific start, the Habs rebounded on Sunday afternoon to beat the Penguins 3-1, stealing away home ice in the process.
The bad news from Friday’s 6-3 loss to Pittsburgh is the lost itself. The really bad news, at least potentially, is the loss of Andrei Markov, who left the game in the first period with a “lower body injury.”
To borrow a famous saying, “Do you believe in miracles? Yes!” The Habs, led by Jaroslav Halak and the block brigade have ousted the Washington Capitals in 7 games with a 2-1 victory on Wednesday night.
After the last home game, there weren’t many who thought anyone would be saying this but there will be a 7th game on Wednesday night to decide the series.
Despite losing both games at home, the Habs didn’t fold and won a hard fought Game 5 to extend their season.
