The 2012 NHL Draft is nearly upon us and the Montreal Canadiens are in somewhat of unchartered territory.
The 2012 NHL Entry Draft will be held at the Consol Energy Centre in Pittsburgh this coming Friday and Saturday.
Welcome to HW’s annual draft pool. This year, the draft is being held in Pittsburgh on June 22nd and 23rd.
At the present time, you would probably be hard pressed to find anyone who says the strength of the Habs’ roster right now is their blueline, there are just too many question marks.
Earlier in this series, I lamented the lack of the depth on the left wing in all facets of the Habs’ organization.
On Friday, the Habs added to their NHL coaching staff, announcing the hirings of Gerard Gallant and Clement Jodoin as assistant coaches to Michel Therrien.
The most discussed area up front for Montreal is the centre position. Talent wise most feel the depth is there, it’s just the size (or lack thereof) that’s a concern.
For the fifth straight season, there will be a new bench boss behind the bench of the Hamilton Bulldogs.
For years, the Habs have lacked a go-to scorer at left wing. Max Pacioretty took several strides forward in 2011-12 with a 33-goal campaign but the depth behind him isn’t anything to get excited about.
