The Habs kick off their 2015 preseason on Tuesday night as they host division rival Toronto. The Leafs are coming off a pair of wins on Monday night in split squad action against Ottawa.
Training camp is now well underway and while it’s too early to make any grand proclamations, we’ve seen enough so far to make some notes and comments about how things are going as we approach the preseason.
The third instalment of our 2015 rankings features several newcomers to the organization. The focus is primarily on defence as three blueliners appear here who are at vastly different stages of their development including a recent second round selection.
On Friday morning, the Habs announced that Max Pacioretty is the new captain of the team following a player vote. He becomes Montreal’s 29th captain in franchise history and the third American-born player to have the honour.
With training camp set to start this week, one of the players who will be in the spotlight is Jarred Tinordi. He no longer has waiver exemption resulting in some questions surrounding the 23 year old defenceman.
