Montreal kicked off their annual Super Bowl weekend double matinee on Saturday with a game against the Capitals. Despite a strong finish at the end, they weren’t able to take home the victory and lost 3-2.
While the Habs were successful in sending Mark Barberio through waivers back in training camp, they weren’t able to do so this time as Colorado claimed him on Thursday.
With Alex Galchenyuk set to return Thursday, the Habs made a pair of roster moves. They assigned Daniel Carr to St. John’s of the AHL while also placing Mark Barberio on waivers.
