The Habs followed up a lacklustre week with one of their best ones of the year to end the month of March on a high note. In St. John’s, the IceCaps split their two games to hold onto a playoff spot by a slim margin with just two weeks to go in their season.
The third quarter of the season for St. John’s saw two players in particular really step up their game to lead the team. Unfortunately for the IceCaps, not many others followed suit. Our report card wraps up with a look at the forwards.
The Habs finished the week strong against the Sens after a pair of poor outings against non-playoff opponents. Things weren’t as positive for the IceCaps as their week was highlighted by a massive collapse that could cost them dearly in their push for a playoff spot.
The Habs inked one of their forward prospects on Friday as they announced the signing of left winger to a three year entry level deal that will carry a cap hit of $720,000 per year. The deal commences in the 2017-18 season.
The third quarter of the season was full of ups and downs for St. John’s. A handful of players really stepped while several others struggled. We kick off our quarterly report card with a look at the goaltenders and defencemen.
The past week was a strong one for the Habs who followed up a loss to Chicago with a pair of key wins against the Sens to preserve their division lead. In St. John’s, the IceCaps doubled their win streak to four games and clawed their way back into the last playoff spot in the North Division.
