The stretch run has arrived for the Hamilton Bulldogs who find themselves in the hunt for a playoff spot with a pair of rookie forwards leading the way.
The offence has dried up once again but despite that, the Habs managed to pick up three of a possible six points to maintain their division lead.
The third quarter of the Hamilton Bulldogs’ season has come and gone and the Bulldogs find themselves in the same spot they’ve been for the better part of the last few months.
The road was not a friendly place for the Habs as their Western trip ended with just one win in four games.
While the Habs spent a good chunk of the month of February in an offensive funk, the same can’t be said for many of their prospects.
While Jeff Petry’s acquisition stole the spotlight on Trade Deadline Day, the Habs quietly added a pair of players from Buffalo in Torrey Mitchell and Brian Flynn.
Many thought that the Habs would go after some defensive depth on deadline day but there weren’t as many expecting that they would land the top blueliner available in Jeff Petry.
Strengths: He’s smart defensively and works hard every shift. His ability to play centre or the wing is also an asset.
Strengths: Has good speed and instincts while he rarely takes a shift off. He has some offensive skills to work with as well although they have yet to materialize in the NHL.
