The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has caused an indefinite delay in the NHL’s schedule and today, it caused the postponement of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft which was scheduled to be held in Montreal in June.
While Gustav Olofsson’s brief stint with the Habs didn’t go well this season, he has been a quality player in Laval. Montreal rewarded him for his efforts on Wednesday, signing him to a one-year contract extension.
It will be a while yet before Joni Ikonen comes to North America as he has signed a two-year contract with Ilves of the Finnish SM-liiga.
