As part of our prospect rankings series, we asked our readers to vote for
their top-10 prospects.  The ballots have been cast and today we bring you
the results.  There are several differences between the fan vote and our
own rankings, only three prospects appear at the same ranking here as they do in
ours while two players that our readers put in their top-10 failed to crack
ours.

Our top-10 was determined by total points percentage [each players’ points
divided by total available points].  Points were awarded in inverse fashion
(1st place vote gets 10, 2nd gets 9, down to 10th getting 1).

#10 – F Louis Leblanc (19.8%)

The fan base is split on Leblanc’s potential.  Although he received
multiple votes everywhere from 3rd to 10th, he was also left off on over half of
the ballots.  He’s not off to a particularly strong start with Hamilton
this year but there’s lots of time to turn it around.

#9 – F Charles Hudon (28.61%)

Hudon is by far the lowest drafted player on this list.  More than half
the voters had him in their top-8, however, over 40% of the respondents didn’t
have him in their top-10 which is why he slots here and not higher.

#7 – F Artturi Lehkonen (30.99%)

Although he was picked on nearly 20% fewer ballots than de la Rose, Lehkonen
narrowly earns the higher ranking as a result of the first and second place
votes he received.

Bournival was the only player to receive multiple votes in every ranking. 
This is in part due to his recent NHL performances; his average selection went a
full ranking higher after he made his Montreal debut.

#5 – G Zach Fucale (45.45%)

Over 60% of Fucale’s votes came in a top-5 ranking.  Had he not been
omitted from 20% of the ballots, he had a very good chance of moving up one more
spot and becoming the highest rated prospect from this past draft.

#4 – F Michael McCarron (50%)

The big winger impressed in the Habs’ training camp and appeared on 90% of
the ballots.  He’s off to a slow start in the OHL this year but that’s to
be expected as he transitions to the junior game.

#3 – F Sebastian Collberg (64.55%)

The small, skilled winger didn’t have the best of training camps with the
Canadiens but that didn’t deter the voters any; he appeared on over 95% of the
ballots and was ranked fourth or higher on two-thirds of those.

#2 – D Jarred Tinordi (88.02%)

Although he had the highest percentage of first place votes, he was
surprisingly left off of 5% of the ballots.  That small amount is what cost
him the top spot.

#1 – D Nathan Beaulieu (90.40%)

Beaulieu was the only player to appear on every ballot which was the
difference between finishing first or second in the rankings.  Last year,
only two prospects earned a vote on every ballot (Tinordi and Alex Galchenyuk).
