With the 2008 NHL Entry Draft now upon us, here is a comparative that shows what
6 different websites have for each pick in the 1st round.  Not
surprisingly, the only pick that all agree on is Steven Stamkos at #1 to Tampa
Bay.  In terms of Montreal’s original pick, there were 4 different selections out of
the 6 sites, the only duplicates being Nicolas Deschamps and Corey Trevino.  Interestingly enough,
Trevino did not appear anywhere on the other 4 mock lists as a possible 1st
rounder.  His name was discussed at one point in our mock draft, but didn’t
make the final cut.

On Friday, the Habs traded their 1st rounder (25th overall) and next year’s 2nd
rounder to Calgary in exchange for winger Alex Tanguay and the Flames’ 5th round
pick (138th overall.)  This means that Montreal’s picks are as follows:

139th:  Maxim Trunev, F, 5’11, 174 lbs, Cherepovets 2 (Russia-Jr)

206th:  Patrick Johnson, C, 5’9, 155 lbs, University of Wisconson (WCHA)
