HabsWorld.net --

On Saturday night, the NHL released the 11-man rosters for the 2004 NHL YoungStars game, starring the best young prospects in the NHL.  Canadiens’ forward Michael Ryder has been named to the roster, despite his contract status (normally, only those on their first pro contract are eligible, Ryder is on his second).  Apparently NHL VP Colin Campbell waived the contractual requirements, also allowing Isles’ forward Trent Hunter, and Bruins’ goaltender Andrew Raycroft to be named to the team.

The following are the complete rosters for the YoungStars game:

Eastern Conference:

Goal:  Andrew Raycroft (BOS)

Defence:  Garnet Exelby (ATL), Paul Martin (NJ), Brooks Orpik (PIT), Joni Pitkanen (PHI)

Forward:  Patrice Bergeron (BOS), Trent Hunter (NYI), Ryan Malone (PIT), Derek Roy (BUF), Michael Ryder (MON), Eric Staal (CAR)

Western Conference:

Goal:  Phillipe Sauve (COL)

Defence:  Christian Ehrhoff (SJ), Dan Hamhuis (NAS), Alexei Semenov (EDM)

Forward:  Pierre-Marc Bouchard (MIN), Jonathan Cheechoo (SJ), Matthew Lombardi (CAL), Joffrey Lupul (ANA), Tuomo Ruutu (CHI), Raffi Torres (EDM), Nikolai Zherdev (CBJ)
