February wasn’t a great month in Laval but the same can’t be said for Montreal’s junior prospects as several youngsters completely dominated in the month of February and get the spotlight in our three stars.
While a playoff spot is still highly unlikely, Laval was able to gain a little bit of ground on the fourth and final playoff spot in the North Division.
Laval made a nice comeback to start their week on a winning note but they weren’t able to follow it up one night later as they split their pair of games against Cleveland.
A return to home ice yielded some positive results for Laval which allowed them to move them out of the basement of the North Division for the time being.
Although the road hasn’t been too kind to Laval this season, they had a decent showing on the road and picked up some key points in the process.
We’ve now reached the top five in our prospect rankings series. There aren’t too many surprises in this group as our writers felt Montreal’s top group was pretty well established heading into the season.

Two weeks ago, Laval had strong goaltending but couldn’t score. Last week, they were able to light the lamp a few times but the goaltending let the team down in a pair of losses.
Just when Michael McCarron was starting to get going in the minors, he suffered an upper-body injury. It turns out that it’s a shoulder issue, one that will cost him the rest of the season after he underwent shoulder surgery on Wednesday.
