Laval wrapped up their second AHL season with a trio of games on the road. While they struggled earlier in the week, they at least were able to end on a positive note.
Laval’s home schedule came to an end last week and while they ended it on a winning note, their first two games left a lot to be desired.
The month of March was a rough one for Laval but several of their other prospects had strong months, earning them the top billing in our prospects of the month.
At some point, the lack of offensive talent in Laval was going to catch up with them despite their decent play in recent weeks. The final week of March turned out to be when the struggles returned.
Sundays usually aren’t busy for the Habs in terms of transactions but this one is an exception. After inking Ryan Poehling earlier in the day, they signed goalie Cayden Primeau to a three-year, entry-level deal.
Ryan Poehling’s time at the NCAA level has come to an end as the Habs announced that he has signed a three-year, entry-level contract. The first year of the deal will be burned this season.
Despite a thinned-out roster, Laval continued their strong month of March by picking up five of a possible six points in a trio of games that went to overtime.
Laval’s third quarter had some ups and downs but a handful of forwards put forth impressive performances. Those players get the top nods as we wrap up our grades.
Despite facing some tough competition, Laval certainly held their own last week and picked up three of a possible six points along the way.
