Laval got off to a nice start to their 2020-21 season as they picked up a pair of high-scoring victories over Belleville with a good mixture of returnees and newcomers leading the way.

Our third group of prospects in our annual rankings series features a pair of players who actually suited up for the Habs last year plus a pair of 2020 draft picks off to good starts to their seasons.

Cole Caufield has been on fire lately since returning from the World Juniors, making him an easy choice for January’s top prospect. Several others also did well and get a mention in our three stars.

Our next batch of prospects in our annual rankings series consists of one of Montreal’s higher picks from just three years ago, some longer-term projects, and one of their longest-tenured prospects.

While there are several prospects who still haven’t played for the better part of a year, it’s time for another instalment of our annual prospect rankings. We start with players ranked 31st through 38th.

With the AHL season a couple of weeks away from starting, it’s almost time for training camp in Laval.  With that in mind, the Rocket unveiled their 32-player training camp roster on Thursday.

A few more prospects got into some game action in December but for the most part, some familiar faces find themselves atop Montreal’s top performers list from last month.

The 2021 World Juniors have come and gone with Team USA winning Gold over Canada.  Three Montreal prospects took part in the tournament with a bit of a mixed bag of results for all of them.  Here is an evaluation of their performances.

The Habs announced on Thursday that they have placed winger Alexandre Alain on unconditional waivers for the purpose of releasing him. 

The 2021 World Junior Hockey Championships will run from December 25th to January 5th and while the Habs won’t have a high number of prospects participating, those that are will likely play key roles. As is our tradition, we’ll keep track of their stats here.
