With Jordan Harris’ season officially coming to an end when Northeastern wasn’t invited to the road to the Frozen Four, the focus immediately turned to his NHL future. He decided that he’s happy where he is with the Habs announcing he’ll remain in college for his senior season.
After a week off, Laval had a busy schedule last week with a pair of games against Toronto and Belleville. Each time, they were only able to pick up the victory in the latter of the two contests.
We’ve now reached the top-20 in our annual Prospect Rankings series. This group of young players is highlighted by one of Montreal’s picks from 2020 who has done nothing but produce since being selected.
Laval’s lengthy homestand to start the season wrapped up last week with a four-game set against Manitoba. While they were the better team in all four games, they still only managed to come away with two victories.
March 1st is the first day that players can sign contracts that begin in 2021-22 and the Habs did just that with Gianni Fairbrother, inking the defenceman to a three-year, entry-level contract.
Laval’s second half of their season-opening series against Belleville didn’t go as well as the first half but the Rocket still managed to pick up a win in one of the two games.
Laval got off to a nice start to their 2020-21 season as they picked up a pair of high-scoring victories over Belleville with a good mixture of returnees and newcomers leading the way.

Cole Caufield has been on fire lately since returning from the World Juniors, making him an easy choice for January’s top prospect. Several others also did well and get a mention in our three stars.
