The Habs were hoping to snap New Jersey’s nine-game win streak as they hosted the Devils on Tuesday. While they played well early, they faded as the game went along as the visitors skated away with a 5-1 victory.

Montreal’s top line continues to score at a high-end pace while they received some secondary goal support, an area of concern early on in the season. The end result was an impressive three-game winning streak.

The goals came early and often in the third period on Saturday night, setting the stage for another overtime contest against Pittsburgh. For the second time this season against them, the Habs were victorious in the extra session as Mike Hoffman potted the winner for a 5-4 victory.

The Habs got off to a hot start against Vancouver on Wednesday night, notching the first four goals of the game. That was more than enough to get them through the game as they came away with a 5-2 victory.

It has been a season of firsts for rookie winger Juraj Slafkovsky.  His first game, his first goal, and now, his first suspension as the Department of Player Safety handed him a two-game suspension for his hit on Matt Luff on Tuesday.

The Habs kicked off the first of a back-to-back stretch as they were in Detroit on Tuesday to take on the Red Wings. They overcame some penalty trouble and were able to skate away with a 3-2 shootout victory.

After a slow start to his season that has seen him be scratched multiple times already, the Canadiens have decided to place winger Rem Pitlick on waivers.

After a strong start to their road trip, the second half wasn’t as strong for the Habs as they dropped both of those contests before losing a surprisingly high-scoring game to Vegas at the Bell Centre to cap off their week.

The verdict is in for winger Josh Anderson and it’s not a good one for him or the Habs as the NHL announced that he has been suspended for two games for his boarding penalty on Saturday night.
