The Habs got off to a strong start to their week and it was looking like they had a shot at a clean sweep of all three games before some struggles on Saturday night against Ottawa proved to be costly.
The Habs came out flying on Saturday night but weren’t able to keep up the effort for 60 minutes. As their compete level dwindled, so too did the lead they had established and in the end, they were only able to salvage a point in the 4-3 overtime loss to Ottawa.
Marc Bergevin’s 2018 offseason work was an improvement on his 2017 summer and it has already paid dividends for both now and the future.
It was far from perfect but the Habs continued their amazing run to start the year, scoring in the dying seconds of regulation to earn a 3-2 win over St. Louis on Wednesday night.
