After a tough first week, the Habs were back in action on Tuesday night as they hosted San Jose. Unfortunately, they struggled early and were out of it quickly, ultimately falling 5-0.
With Mike Hoffman expected to make his Canadiens debut on Tuesday, the Habs needed to create a roster spot for him. That was done on Monday as they placed Alex Belzile on waivers.
The first week of the season for the Habs was not one to remember as their offence was basically non-existent in all three games, resulting in three straight regulation losses to kick off the 2021-22 campaign.
