After pulling out a shutout victory over Columbus on Tuesday, the Habs looked to close their home stand on a high note as they hosted Boston on Thursday night. It was a tight-checking contest but the Bruins were able to pick up the 2-1 overtime victory.
As expected, it was a fairly quiet trade deadline for the Habs who made a pair of swaps, moving Jake Allen to New Jersey while swapping prospects with Anaheim. Our writers offer up their thoughts on the deadline.
Laval had a tough week ahead of them with three matchups against two of the top teams in the conference. While it didn’t start off the greatest, they still came out with five of six points along with a couple of new players.
The trade deadline has come and gone but that hasn’t stopped the Canadiens from making a minor swap. On Monday, the team announced that they’ve acquired Arnaud Durandeau from New Jersey in exchange for Nathan Legare.
The Habs capped off the back half of their tough road trip with a split before putting up a decent effort against Toronto in their first game back although they ultimately came up short.
While it has taken a while, the three-goalie rotation in Montreal has come to an end as the Habs have traded Jake Allen to New Jersey for a conditional 2025 third-round pick.
After a solid win in Nashville on Tuesday, the Habs looked to end their road trip on a high note in Carolina on Thursday. They were in it for a while but the Hurricanes eventually pulled away and collected the 4-1 victory.
Montreal’s first trade of deadline week is in the books but it’s not the type of move that saw them send a veteran out. Instead, they swapped prospects with Anaheim, acquiring Jacob Perreault in exchange for Jan Mysak.
