With 6 regulars from the Hamilton Bulldogs in the lineup and facing the defending Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins, things looked dim for the Habs.

On Thursday night, the Habs once again came out flat, spotting the Boston Bruins an 2-0 lead.
This past week for the Habs could simply be summed up in song, “Where has all the offence gone?” (you can figure out the tune yourself).
The powerplay was the saving grace for the Habs on Saturday afternoon, as a pair of goals earned them a point that they really didn’t deserve otherwise in a 3-2 overtime loss to Ottawa.
After a listless effort last week, the Habs rebounded, picking up 5 of a possible 6 points while Hamilton used an offensive explosion to solidify their division lead.
The talk before the game was that the Habs were looking to get their revenge, and boy did they get it.
It was not a week to remember for both the Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs as combined, the two teams won a total of one game (the Habs’ win over Dallas).
The opportunities were there at the end, but the Habs simply weren’t able to take advantage, falling 4-2 to Ottawa on Saturday night.
It was a week where the Habs held the fort defensively, allowing just 7 goals in 4 games but the team simply couldn’t score.
It was a game that many were expecting to be a snoozefest like earlier in the week vs Buffalo but instead the opposite happened.
