After the initial jubilation from most fans after the Habs announced the firing of Pierre Gauthier last season, everyone has had a chance to sit back and reflect on his tenure as GM.
Even though Pierre Gauthier was only GM of the Habs for a few years, he made quite a few significant moves along the way.
For the second straight week, the Bulldogs earned a split on the road and also for the second straight week were dominated in their first game before putting forth a winning effort in game two.
We appear to be heading towards the drop dead date for CBA negotiations. Either a deal is going to be done in the next few weeks or we’re likely looking at a second lost season in less than a decade.
Our monthly three stars return with a new twist. With the Habs out of the picture, our focus shifts to the Hamilton Bulldogs as well as Montreal’s prospects playing at other levels.
It was looking like it was going to be a really tough week for Hamilton as they travelled to Abbotsford to take on the league leading Heat in a pair of games.
Although the NHL season isn’t underway and the lockout having no end in sight, quite a few Habs are keeping themselves in playing shape by suiting up in various countries and leagues worldwide.
The Habs have had many prospects over the years. As always, some have had high expectations and succeeded while others picked later had lower expectations and varying degrees of success in the pros.
Offensive consistency eluded the Bulldogs last season and it’s safe to say that it’s happening again this year.
If there was one positive that came out of the last lockout, it was the systemic changes to the game that most would agree made it more entertaining.
