The Habs added some more forward depth on Tuesday, claiming Paul Byron off waivers from the Calgary Flames. They also learned that both Dustin Tokarski and Mark Barberio cleared waivers.
Zack Kassian’s regular season debut with the Canadiens has been put on hold indefinitely. The NHLPA announced on Monday night that the winger has entered Stage 2 of the NHL-NHLPA Substance Abuse and Behavioral Program.
The Habs have made four cuts from their training camp roster on Monday to drop their active roster to 25. Two players were directly assigned to the minors while two others have hit the waiver wire.
Tomas Fleischmann’s tryout with the Canadiens was a successful one as on Sunday morning, the team announced that they have inked the winger to a one year contract reportedly worth $750,000.
