As expected, Adam Brooks’ time with the Canadiens organization has come to an end as the Golden Knights claimed him on waivers on Wednesday.
After a disappointing loss to the Bruins on Sunday, the Habs were back in action on Tuesday in New York to face the Rangers. Once again, their performance was strong at some points and poor at others and the end result was another close loss as they fell 3-2.
Adam Brooks’ time with the Habs has turned out to be short-lived as the Canadiens announced on Tuesday that he has been placed on waivers.
The Habs put forth some better performances last week compared to earlier in the season but at the end of the day, the results were largely the same as they managed just a single win over their four games.
With just two wins in ten games in the opening month of the season, there weren’t many positives for the Habs. However, a handful of players had decent starts to their season, earning them the nod as Montreal’s three stars for October as voted by our readers.
With the Habs being banged up right now, recalls were expected. They came right after Laval’s game on Wednesday as the team announced that Ryan Poehling and Mattias Norlinder were recalled from the Rocket.
While the Habs didn’t have an October to remember, several of their prospects and farmhands had strong starts to their respective seasons. Those players are highlighted in our top prospects of the month.
After a disappointing outing on Saturday against Vegas, the Habs were looking to get back in the win column on Tuesday against Los Angeles. They were able to come back late to force overtime but that’s as close as they got as they fell 3-2.
The road wasn’t kind to Laval last week as their offence, while bolstered with some additions from the Habs, sputtered as they only mustered up two goals over the weekend in a pair of losses.
