Scouting Report

Strengths: Plays with a ton of heart. Is a
very good skater and isn’t afraid to get physical. Solid on the
penalty-kill. Capable of picking up points through his determined work
ethic. Good size.
Weaknesses: Isn’t blessed with offensive
talent. May need to control his intensity slightly to avoid unnecessary
Projected Role: Energy/character player. Defensive specialist with offensive upside. Could
see a lot of ice playing on a strong 4th line.

Maxim Lapierre played his second career NHL game against the Boston Bruins
on Tuesday, December 12th, 2006. Lapierre picked up his first career NHL
point with an assist on Guillaume Latendresse’s game-winning goal. Having
already won the respect of Head Coach Guy Carbonneau, it is unlikely that
Lapierre will be returned to the AHL anytime soon. Expect to see him receive
a lot more ice-time as he gains experience.

Before being called up to the
NHL, Lapierre played 26 games in the AHL this season with the Hamilton
Bulldogs. He had a strong start to the season, collecting 8 goals, 11
assists, and 49 PIM.
