- With a $5 M cap hit, Sergei Gonchar is one of the most expensive d-men in franchise history. The only ones higher are P.K. Subban ($9 M), Andrei Markov ($5.75 M), Mathieu Schneider ($5.75 M), and Roman Hamrlik ($5.5 M).
With the Habs having picked their new GM, the focus now shifts to who will replace Randy Cunneyworth behind the bench for the 2012-13 season. GM Marc Bergevin is believed to have started the selection process although there has been very little word on the candidates that may have already been interviewed. Should the Habs go with some new blood or is a coaching veteran the way to go?
As we did with the GM's, we've comprised a survey to get a sense of what you want in a coach and more specifically, who you want. The first section goes over some general characteristics and coaching strategies where you can rate how important each is for your ideal candidate. Since this process began, there have been countless names mentioned as possible coaches for the Habs, we've cut it down to 16 coaches with varying levels of experience from four different leagues (and two television networks). From that, we'd like you to rate each option and choose your top option for the next coach of the Montreal Canadiens.
