Montreal got a rare offensive burst in the second period on Saturday night, scoring four times. Nashville was able to make it a close contest in the third but in the end, the Habs were able to skate away with a 6-3 victory.
The Habs got off to a good start in Boston on Sunday night but things fell apart as the game went on. The Bruins picked up four unanswered goals in the third period and that was the difference as they skated away with a 5-2 win.

After a tough outing in Seattle, the Habs were able to rebound in San Jose on Thursday night as they skated away with a 4-0 victory on the back of a 45-save shutout from Jake Allen. It was their first road victory over the Sharks this millenium.
Montreal’s offence came to life on Saturday night against Detroit. After allowing the first goal, they were able to score more goals than they had tallied in the first six games combined, allowing them to skate away with a 6-1 victory,
Jesperi Kotkaniemi returned to the Bell Centre for the first time as a member of the Hurricanes on Thursday night. While Montreal played better at times, they still came up on the short end of a 4-1 score with the former Hab picking up a crucial insurance marker in the third.
The Habs weren’t able to muster up much offensively in their home opener on Saturday night. While they were able to even it up in the third, that tie was short-lived as they ultimately fell 3-1 to the Rangers.
The preseason came to an end for the Habs on Thursday night as they fell 5-4 in a shootout to Ottawa in a game that saw them start strong and finish strong, but struggled in between.
The Habs kicked off a home-and-home set versus the Senators on Friday night and couldn’t get much going either offensively or defensively as they fell 7-2.
