The Habs kicked off a back-to-back home-and-home set against Pittsburgh on Saturday. In their final home game of 2025, they put forth one of their better games as of late. Owen Beck had his first NHL goal while Jacob Fowler had his first NHL shutout in a 4-0 victory.
Despite shots being few and far between, the Habs got off to a great start on Saturday, getting a 3-0 lead on the Rangers. However, they weren’t able to hold and eventually fell 5-4 in overtime.
The Habs haven’t had much success during the regular season in Toronto in recent years. While they led for a good chunk of the game, they lost the lead in the third but still managed to snap their winless drought at Scotiabank Arena with a 2-1 shootout victory.
After a tough loss against Washington, the Habs rebounded on Saturday against Toronto in Florian Xhekaj’s NHL debut. Montreal scored the first four goals of the game and that was enough to carry them to the eventual 5-2 victory.
After a pair of clunkers on home ice during the week, the Habs put forth a better effort on Saturday against Boston. However, it wasn’t enough for the win as the Bruins skated away with the 3-2 victory.
The Habs didn’t get off to a great start on Saturday against Utah but once they took the lead in the second period, they didn’t look back. They put forth their best offensive performance of the season, beating the Mammoth 6-2.
The Habs had the lead for the majority of Saturday’s game against the Rangers thanks to a quick start. However, New York scored three quicks goals in the third and the Canadiens couldn’t come back this time, falling 4-3.
The Habs had plenty of power play opportunities on Saturday in Chicago but the game was still tied into the dying seconds. However, a late Kaiden Guhle point shot got past Spencer Knight to give Montreal the 3-2 victory.
Saturday’s rematch against the Senators didn’t feature anywhere near the level of physicality of Tuesday’s game but it also didn’t feature much offence from the Habs as they fell 3-1.
After getting outclassed by a much weaker Toronto lineup on Thursday, the Habs flipped the script on Saturday in the rematch. The Canadiens sent a much weaker lineup on the road but it didn’t matter as Montreal picked up the 4-2 win.
