Monday was another preseason game where the effort level was acceptable, but the ability to finish the plays was sorely lacking as the Habs dropped their fifth straight, 5-1 to Toronto.

With a roster built to test the mettle of some training camp invites, the Canadiens looked completely out of sorts in yet another preseason loss, this time in a 5-1 to the Senators.

Thursday marked the third of the eight scheduled pre-season games along with the return of what can only be described as the lesser of the two squads Claude Julien has put together and it showed with a 4-1 loss at the hands of the Devils.

Victor Mete, Charles Hudon, and Daniel Carr put forth some solid efforts in Wednesday’s 4-2 loss to Washington, thus creating a few interesting battles internally for the rest of training camp.

In this first preseason game, many unproven players created an interesting match in Quebec City’s Centre Vidéotron on Monday night but it was the Bruins who came out with the 3-2 win.
