Scouting Report

Strengths: Has good height and possesses
good skating ability along with above average offensive skill.
Weaknesses: Fresh out of high school, David
Fischer will need to work on just about everything during his time at
university. Has a tall frame but must work on filling it by adding muscle.
Projected Role: Fischer could become a top-2 defenseman for the Montreal Canadiens, but he
has a long road ahead of him.

Biography

When GM Bob Gainey traded down in the 2006 draft he was
confident that defenseman David Fischer would still be available at the 20th
overall pick. Fischer is considered somewhat of a project because he had
only completed high school when he was selected by the Habs. He is expected
to spend the next 4 years playing for the University of Minnesota.
