(AP) Peter Sarno scored in his NHL debut and the Edmonton Oilers defeated the Montreal Canadiens 4-2 on Tuesday night.

Raffi Torres, Fernando Pisani and Cory Cross also scored and Marty Reasoner had two assists for Edmonton, which got its first win in four road games this season to begin a six-game trip. The Oilers had been shut out twice, and scored just once, in its three previous road losses.

Sheldon Souray scored twice for Montreal, which has lost four straight home games. The Canadiens have lost five of six overall while being outscored 22-4.

Sarno, recalled from Toronto of the AHL on Monday, put a rebound of Brad Isbister’s shot into an open net to give the Oilers a 4-0 lead 7:15 into the second — just 22 seconds after Cross scored his second of the season at 6:53.

Souray scored his first goal at 7:52 on a low slap shot from the left point. The puck deflected off Oilers forward Shawn Horcoff’s stick and went under Tommy Salo’s glove.

Souray got his second of the game — his fifth of the season — on a two-man advantage 6:45 into the third.

Edmonton was 0-for-16 on the power-play on the road when Torres scored 7:33 in on the Oilers’ first opportunity with the man advantage.

Mathieu Garon made a pad save after Reasoner, who assisted on Cross’ goal, tipped Steve Staios’ shot and Torres put away the rebound for his fourth of the season.

Pisani scored an unassisted goal at 16:37 for his second of the season toput Edmonton up 2-0.
