Habs Host Devils in Battle for Sixth

Both the Devils and Canadiens come into tonight’s game with a record of 40-27-9 and are currently deadlocked in sixth place in the Eastern Conference. Montreal has won eight consecutive games and can match a league best nine game winning streak with another win tonight. The New Jersey Devils are on a run of their own and have won six of their last seven games.

Martin Brodeur has enjoyed success against the Canadiens for most of his hall of fame career. Brodeur has a 27-12-5 record all time against the Canadiens not to mention the six shutouts, 1.78 goals against average and .930 save percentage. Cristobal Huet on the other hand has lost his only start against the Devils but is yet to play them this season.

The Devils have won both meetings with the Canadiens this season out scoring the Canadiens 10-7. Jose Theodore suffered both loses for the Habs. The Canadiens will host the Devils once more on April 18th which will be the final game of the regular season for both teams.
