Carey Price's Long Drive Home

Sometime this past week, Carey Price packed his belongings into his big, black truck and began the long trek home to British Columbia. As he drives further away he’ll begin to put Montreal increasingly behind him, as he allows the soothing sounds of George Strait and Garth Brooks to keep him company on what will be the beginning of three months of reflection and introspection, a time to look back at what has happened to him this past year.Full Story

For Bob Gainey Home is Where the Heart is

But if one wants to find the true Bob Gainey, the man behind the private façade, there are small hints to be found on a trip back to Peterborough, where it all began years before at the house on the corner of James and Mark streets, a place where his beloved mother still resides, as her offspring continue to make their mark on the world outside her door.Full Story

HW Recap: Sad ending to a great season

The laws of balance appeared to play out this week, as despite outplaying the Flyers in the majority of the series, the Habs were eliminated in 5. This after arguably being outplayed by Boston for most of Round 1 but Montreal came out on top there. We'll have the last set of grades, plus a look at free agency from the Habs' perspective, and a Final Thought on the season, in the Recap.Full Story

A Season to Remember

Expectation is a funny thing. At the beginning of the season, few expressed any hopes of the Habs fielding a successful squad this year, and no one predicted a first place finish. But when the Habs proceeded to confound the experts the whispers began. It was a sound that hadn’t been uttered in a long time, it started out as a simmer, and then as winter clung tenaciously it became a belief. A hope that the dream could be on the horizon. A belief that the Stanley Cup was within reach.Full Story

Preview: Time to start paying the Price

Saturday night's Game 5 will be the second do or die situation for both the Montreal Canadiens and the Philadelphia Flyers, both teams having won their first. History is not on the Habs' side though, as the team has only came back to win 1 series when training 3-1, back in 2004 vs Boston, the last time the team was in that situation.Full Story

Best of Five

After stealing game 2 in Montreal the Flyers have made the best of seven series a best of five and have stolen home ice advantage at the same time. The Canadiens are now forced to win at least 1 in Philadelphia to win the series.
The barbs have been thrown thanks to the Tom Kostopoulos punch that Kimmo Timonen received after he and his fellow teammates had mocked and laughed at the Canadiens. Full Story

Canadiens VS Flyers (Round 2 Preview)

Before the playoffs started if you were to tell a Habs fan they would draw the Bruins and Flyers in the first two rounds the corners of their smiles may have touched both of their ears, but after a war of a first round against Boston many Habs fans must be looking back thinking “be careful what you wish for”.
