I was born in Montreal and grew up cheering for the Montreal Canadiens. In 1989 my family moved to Hong Kong where I spent the next 10 years avidly following the Canadiens from afar. In 2005 I joined the Canadian Armed Forces and served in Afghanistan in 2008. In the military, I learned how to be a professional and conduct myself with dignity and respect for others - bolstered by my upbringing abroad.
