The injury bug has struck the Habs once again as Daniel Carr will miss the remainder of the regular season with a right knee injury. The injury was sustained in Monday’s 5-2 loss to Columbus.
On Monday night, the Habs went into Columbus looking to record two straight wins for the first time in two months. Unfortunately, the drought lives on as the Blue Jackets picked up a 5-2 victory.
This past week saw the Habs fall out of the playoffs for the first time all season, despite the team winning one of their two games. Things were better for St. John’s as they were able to pick up five of six points to snap their slump. Plus, it’s rare that the make or break part of the schedule comes this early but my Final Thought looks at why it’s the case now for Montreal.
The second quarter of St. John’s season had more ups than downs as the team really struggled with consistency. That was particularly an issue on the back end, which is where we start with our quarterly grades.
Marc Bergevin’s press conference on Thursday was intended to calm the waters but instead his comments have drawn the ire of a very frustrated fan base. Some of that anger seems unfounded to me, however.
The drop in the standings continues for the Habs after another winless week against Western opponents. Things weren’t much better for the IceCaps who, after losing three of four, are also now starting to lose ground. Plus, everyone knows scoring help is needed but my Final Thought looks at another area that needs improvement in Montreal.

Jarred Tinordi’s time with the Habs has come to an end. He has been flipped to the Coyotes as part of a three way trade that sees John Scott and Victor Bartley coming to the Canadiens.
It was another iffy week for the Habs who played well at some times and really struggled at others. Things were even worse in St. John’s as they had a pair of poor efforts over the weekend.
