Bob Gainey announced that the Canadiens have agreed to terms with centreman
Benoit Dusablon on a 1 year contract.  As per team policy, financial terms were
not disclosed.

Dusablon stands at 6’2 and 209 pounds, and is a left-handed centreman.  He has
bounced around over the years, mostly spending time between the AHL and various
ECHL teams.  Last season, Dusablon made his NHL debut with the New York Rangers,
playing 3 games when they were in their salary-cutting mode at the trade
deadline.  He did not record a point in those games, but had a -1 rating and 2
penalty minutes.  Dusablon spent most of last season with the AHL’s Hartford
Wolf Pack, recording 24 points (10-14-24) in 35 games.  He also played for the
Charlotte Checkers of the ECHL, recording 20 points (10-10-20) in 19 games.

He was also a big-time scorer in his junior days in the QMJHL, scoring a
whopping 291 points over 4 seasons, in a total of 264 games. 

Dusablon is not expected to push for a roster spot in Montreal, but figures to
be a depth player for the

Hamilton Bulldogs.  If he cannot make the ‘Dogs, he can be sent to Long
Beach of the ECHL, the new ECHL affiliation of the

Montreal Canadiens.
