(2011-09-27 16:44 posted by Louis Moustakas) Following Monday night's 2-1 loss at the hands of the Boston Bruins, Montreal brass proceeded to make another series of cuts.
Hulking blueliner Jarred Tinordi has been sent back to his junior team in London. Meanwhile, forwards Alain Berger, Philip DeSimone and Gabriel Dumont as well as defenceman Olivier Dame-Malka were assigned to Hamilton. In the process, it appears that DeSimone and Dame-Malka impressed management sufficiently to earn minor league contracts. Both will now have a chance to earn a spot with the Bulldogs. The two signings do not count against the Habs' contract total, which now stands at 48 following the acquisition of Chris Campoli Teams are allowed a maximum of 50 contracts per season.
Finally, forward Brian Willsie and netminder Nathan Lawson have been placed on waivers today. Teams have until 12 pm on Wednesday to make a claim. Brock Trotter, who was waived on Monday, was not picked up by another team and also seems headed for the farm team.
On Monday, prior to the contest versus the Bruins, the team had already made ten cuts. Olivier Archambault, Nathan Beaulieu and Morgan Ellis were assigned their junior squads. Alexander Avtsin, Andrew Conboy Dany Masse, Mark Mitera, Joe Stejskal, Robert Mayer and Peter Delmas were demoted to Hamilton.
