Brian Gionta picks up his play most on Saturday nights. This season, he's averaging 1.15 PPG on Saturdays; his second best PPG average is Thursdays where he has 10 points in as many games.
Very elusive player that never seems to
get caught by a big hit. Has been able to consistently put up impressive
offensive numbers despite his lack of size. Very durable with excellent
speed and better hockey sense than most NHL'ers. It's hard to argue against
his success thus far...
Weaknesses:
At 5' 6" he is hard pressed to win the
battles on the boards with strength alone and relies on his skill to do the
job. He will be undoubtedly be held back because of his size but if he
continues to dominate the pro ranks he will have his shot at some point.
